Deva Dwabha
This year our keynote speaker will be Dr Enid Hendershot, aka Prabhavati Dwabha. She will tell us, with her unique humour and colourful manner, all about her life journey; from the lights of Hollywood to the banks of India's sacred Ganges river. The 60-something Colorado native struggled to make it as an actress in Los Angeles in the 1970s, but shed all desire for fame and recognition as she boarded a flight to Pune.
Although she still loves a bit of drama in her life, the ego has gone -- shed on a transformational journey that ended in the foothills of the Himalayas, where for the last 25 years she has fought to improve the lives of women and children.
Dwabha‘s path has taken her to the feet of a spiritual master who directed her to establish Ramana’s Garden, a school on the banks of the Ganges, where she has offered a home and sanctuary to 60+ children of the ‘untouchables’ and educates and feeds 200 daily.
Ramana’s Garden includes an organic farm, an angora rabbit project and the only organic café in Rishikesh where nutritious food feeds not only the school but happy tourists.
She has just received a prestigious humanitarian award celebrating her indomitable spirit and deep commitment to the underprivileged.
